Chen Taiji Quan is the original form of Taiji Quan or Tai Chi.
It has its origins in the small village called Chen Jia Gou, otherwise known as The Chen Village, over four hundred years ago. The Chen Village is located in the province of HeNan, China. During the twelve years I had spent living in China, I have made many trips to the Chen Village to continue to study and develop my skill and knowledge of the Chen system of Taiji Quan.
I truly believe that Chen Taiji Quan can benefit all who wish to undertake the training and commitment to the art. I am patient and thorough with my teaching and explanations. I do my best to make sure that each student understands why things work and how they work to the best of my knowledge. I explain in eastern terms as well as in western science terms as to why and how Taiji Quan works. I do my best to maintain the integrity of Chen Taiji Quan in my teaching so each student is able to get the most benefits from their practice.
Benefits of practicing Taiji:
☐ Lower blood pressure and improve heart rate.
☐ Enhanced flexibility, balance, and agility.
☐ Better mood, with lower levels of depression, stress, and anxiety
☐ More energy and stamina
☐ Reduced inflammation
Those just getting interested in Taiji usually have heard of all the great benefits that have been associated with the practice but, did you know that Taiji is actually a martial art? It is important to understand the movements and the applications to get the most out of your practice. As you development and progresses in the Chen family system of Taiji, not only will you learn the original old frame but can advance on to other Chen routines as well as weapons, such as the broad swords and the saber. There are also push hands partner exercises that help to further develop your understanding of the Taiji movements and techniques.
